Battlefield 3 Review

The future is black in the next installment of the Call of duty series, Call of duty Black ops 2. There is a whole new campaign, intense online action and a brand new installment of zombies. If this doesn't convince you to buy the game yet, reading this review will.

Single Player: Call of Duty Black Ops 2 takes place in a future pre apocalyptic World War 3 in the year 2025. You play as David Mason, the son of Alex Mason from the first Black Ops game. The missions go back and forth from David Mason to Alex Mason after the events of Black Ops 2. Treyarch has redesigned every gun and renamed it to give it that futuristic feel. The good thing that Treyarch has finally done is put weapon customization in before you start the mission. For example, I can use the load out class which has been preset or if I wanted, I can put only a pistol, or make the scorpion have rapid fire, reflex and extended magazines. This is a nice touch to have the ability to do that. Also besides doing the missions there are also extra side missions that will affect the outcome of the game. You can chose to do them or not to. These missions take you into the command of a task force which is made up of soldiers, drones, and other weapons that can fight alongside with you. At any time you can take over control of any of these to help win the fight. On top of the final outcome to the game, there are critical choices you have to make that can make the end a good one or a bad one. Over all the campaign had a nice feel to it and the different endings always left you in suspense waiting for something good to happen. I would give the single player an 8.

Zombies: Every person that loved Black ops zombies is going to love this new style of zombies. To start, there are 3 zombie maps that you can play as; regular style zombies or you can play the new mode Tranzit. Tranzit takes you around to a total of 5 different maps. At each map there are parts to make devices that can help you do better. There are new characters that have funny lines and look like they all have different backgrounds to them. There are numerous challenges to face though when playing like new bosses and the basic guns off walls. My overall rating for zombies in this game is 9.

Multiplayer: The reason why most people buy any Call of Duty is for the multiplayer. This game had a nice multiplayer design to it. There are some new changes though that regular Call of Duty players may or may not like. The new style of customization for Black Ops 2 is definitely different then the regular styles of load outs. For example, if you wanted to go into battle with a MK.48 with rapid fire and extended clips, and a tac .45 with FMJ with your choice of perks, and a lethal and tactical grenade then it is possible. But the new change to this is that you can only have a max of 10 things in a class which at times can be annoying. The upside is that if you don't want a perk, a grenade, a secondary, or a primary, you can get rid of all of these things to free up space to add a third attachment to your primary or a secondary attachment to your secondary and there is even more combinations you can make up. The kill streak rewards or score streak rewards are standard just like other call of duty games. Care packages, uav's, being the gunner of a VTOL, death machine, and a few new rewards. Then there are the maps. The maps are good and they range from small to large. They take you all over the world and in all sorts of conditions. All maps will support close range and long range action. Overall the multiplayer earned a respectable 9.5.
